2018 / Gift for my parents

The Sooke Map quilt is a abstract map interpretation of an area in Vancouver Island my parents enjoy.

Method: Using Adobe Illustrator, I created the map outline, then printed it at 100%. I cut out each section and used basting spray to turn over the edges. Kind of a hand turn appliqué cheat. Then used zig zag stitch to combine the pieces.

This was the first quilt I ever made and I learned a lot about construction and appliqué methods.
